As the Duchess of York speaks to Woman, royal biographer Emily Andrews reveals why Fergie and Andrew may repeat their nuptials

Why it's time TO MARRY AGAIN

Super Gran, romantic novelist, breadwinner and keeper of the late Queen’s corgis.

It has been quite the reinvention for Sarah, Duchess of York, seemingly a royal outcast for so many years after those toe-sucking pictures, the cash-for-access scandal and effective banishment.

With the ascension of King Charles came an invitation back to the royal fold – quite literally as she and Prince Andrew were invited to stay with him and the rest of the family for Christmas at Sandringham.

In an exclusive interview with Woman, Sarah, 63, talks about her relationship with the late Queen, her enduring partnership with Prince Andrew and her new role as a granny.

In recent times, Fergie hasn’t held back, even airing her views on the arguably volatile situation with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, saying, ‘I do believe in family unity. I think forgiveness is key.’

And she tells us, ‘I don’t believe in judgement… The US was a haven for me. The people there welcomed me in and made me feel at home. I hope Harry and Meghan are very happy there.’

Family is clearly everything to Fergie, and despite divorcing in 1996, she and Andrew still live together at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.

Could remarriage be on the cards? While Prince Philip was alive (he allegedly disliked her) that was never a possibility. But now?

‘I believe that the love I have for him and he has for me is just very different from what normal people have,’ Sarah said coyly in one interview. And she previously freely admitted that Andrew is the love of her life, saying, ‘I would do it all over again because he was a very good-looking sailor, but I fell in love with him and I think love conquers all.’

IS THERE ANYTHING MORE NOSTALGIC THAN CHRISTMASES PAST?

Do you remember the anticipation before the big day, pondering endlessly about what should go on your Christmas list? I would lovingly write two or three things down, pop it into an envelope and leave it by the fireplace to be wafted up the chimney like something out of Mary Poppins.
