Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan have been at loggerheads over their different career goals and future plans for some time now. While Judy has made it clear she’s done with TV, saying, ‘I love my quiet life tucked away with my home and family,’ Richard feels very differently. The star, who co-hosts GMB with Susanna Reid, still loves the excitement of TV and has said, ‘I have absolutely no future plans at all [to retire]. I am happy to stay on at GMB as long as they want me.’ This will undoubtedly be hard to hear for Judy, who has said she got ‘tired and fed up’ of TV years ago.
The possible strain these differing values may be putting on the couple looked visible on a day out with their son, Jack. Richard, 68, and Judy, 76, both looked glum as they went for lunch with Jack and his wife, Issy. So, is there trouble brewing at the Madeley mansion?
Richard’s U-turn?
It seems Richard was leaning more towards Judy’s way of thinking in terms of stepping back from TV after falling ill in August. He said, after taking time off from GMB, ‘So many careers don’t have a hard stop; you continue to progress, or you just slowly, quietly – as I’m doing – filter to a stop. But how do you manage the hard stop?’
However, just a few short months on and he’s gone back on this, now saying, ‘It’s a privilege working [at GMB], I get a real kick out of it.’

'THAT'S NOT MY BABY'
Lying in the hospital bed, my husband Michael had tears of happiness in his eyes as he showed me a photo on his phone. 'Here she is,' he said proudly. 'This is our beautiful baby girl.'I stared at the photo and shook my head. 'No, that's not my baby,' I said. 'There must be a mistake.'It was August 2010 and I'd not long before had an emergency caesarean. I'd not had a chance to see Winnie when she arrived as she'd been whisked away for tests because she was nearly two months premature.
