Eighteen months ago, Samantha Armytage sensationally announced she was leaving her longstanding job on Sunrise in favour of a simpler life in the NSW Southern Highlands.
“It’s full of sociopaths and narcissists,” she insisted of the industry that made her a household name.
Three months after leaving, the cracks between her and former Sunrise newsreader Natalie Barr would also be laid bare. “She just needs to get on and enjoy it and forget about me... (even though I’m unforgettable) peace out” Sam sneered of her former co-worker, before telling fans, “Nat’s wanted the job, forever... and she’s finally got it”.
Fast forward to 2022, Nat, 54, has well and truly “forgotten” about Sam and got on with the job at Sunrise, which she has successfully led to success alongside co-host David Koch, 66.

This week, Sam, who turns 46 on Sunday, is set to make a blockbuster return to the network with a much-hyped role on Farmer Wants A Wife – and according to a Seven insider, this is only the beginning.
