Just hours before releasing to the world her emotional video explaining she had cancer, the Princess of Wales travelled from London to Windsor Castle for an “emotional” private lunch with her father-in-law.
It’s believed Kate was determined to speak to King Charles III ahead of her bombshell health revelation so she could check on how the 75-year-old was doing amid his own cancer battle.
It’s known that Charles, whose own cancer diagnosis was announced by Buckingham Palace in February, already knew about Kate’s health status ahead of the news being released. But a Windsor insider notes the nevertheless unprecedented meeting speaks volumes about the close and supportive relationship between the senior royals.
