Sounds too simple to be true, but just enjoying oranges daily can reverse fatty liver in as little as four weeks. So say experts reporting in the journal Nutrients, who found the benefit in people who ate 400 mg of the fruit (about two large oranges) per day. Researchers credit compounds such as flavonoids and anthocyanins found in oranges with combatting liver fat accumulation. Prefer eating apples rather than oranges? Go right ahead. A separate study published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition suggests that the flavonoids in apples fend off fat accumulation in the liver too.
