San Parks Honorary Rangers Celebrate R57.4m In Fundraising!

THE SANParks Honorary Rangers (SHR), the official volunteer organisation of SANParks, hosted their annual Indaba held in Skukuza, Kruger National Park in May and it was here that the volunteers celebrated a whopping R57.4million worth of support provided to SANParks in 2016. This included 260 000 hours of work and 2.8-million kilometres travelled among its 1 601 members.

“We believe that our national parks are really special places. These are places which we must cherish, and which we must conserve – not only for ourselves, but for future generations,” outgoing chairperson Louis Lemmer said at the Indaba. “It is a privilege to be seen as an integral partner to SANParks. SANParks is a proactive organisation working hard for the future, and we are a part of that.”
