Harlan Coben is the undisputed king of the twisty thriller. The bestselling US author has made his name penning stories with unexpected stings in the tail – and that’s certainly the case with his 2015 novel The Stranger.

Now, following collaborations on Safe and The Five, Coben has teamed up once again with screenwriter Danny Brocklehurst to turn The Stranger into a tense thriller airing on Netflix.

The eight-parter follows an enigmatic figure who devastates people’s lives by revealing shocking secrets about their loved ones.

As the series begins, the happy family life that lawyer Adam Price (Richard Armitage) and his wife Corinne (Dervla Kirwan) share with their sons is blown apart when a nameless stranger (Hannah John-Kamen) delivers a jaw-dropping revelation to Adam about Corinne.
