It’s been a long time since Mary Berry, Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins were together on our television screens, so the friends and colleagues are understandably delighted to be reunited this Christmas for a real winter warmer.

The former Great British Bake Off stars head to South Wales to give one struggling community the surprise of a lifetime with the most spectacular festive party the town has ever seen.

Sadly, the area has recently suffered the loss of local factories, schools, post offices and shops, but local volunteers have worked tirelessly to open a community centre providing hot meals and entertainment for the residents.

‘The community has had a very tough time of it lately,’ says Mary. ‘Last year the community centre managed to put on a Christmas meal of turkey baps, but we thought they deserved a really special surprise party this year to say thank you for their hard work!’
