Lebioda, builds IBG
Models’ 1:72 Polish Icon
As soon as I heard that IBG Models was releasing the famous P.11 in 1/72 scale, I knew it would be a model that would jump the queue. This happened, as soon as it got into my hands, I immediately started building it.
As always, I started to work with the kit, assembly instructions, and documentation collected from the Internet. This allowed me to make solid preparations for the construction, as well as to gather mental inspiration, which is necessary for me to consistently work on a specific project. The content of the kit is a few frames, with parts in grey. At first glance, the parts look very good, and as you get more familiar with the kit, the admiration increases. The elements are moulded to a very high level with excellent engineering.
I started working on the model according to the manufacturer's instructions. This begins with the cockpit interior. The set has a small photo-etched plate, with several elements for the interior. After installing all the partsts, I covered the whole thing with Mr Surfacer 1200 primer. Then, I sprayed black from the Tamiya XF-1 line, before spraying interior in the correct colour for the P.11, with (Super Fine) Silver (Mr. Hobby no SM201). This comes from the new line from the Japanese manufacturer, Mr Hobby, the SUPER METALIC 2 series.
