Supermodel Linda Evangelista has learned what works (sunscreen, eyeshadow) and what’s not worth fussing over (fine lines, bold lipstick). We are inspired.
REDBOOK: You love to try new products. Are there any staples you’ve been using for years?
LINDA EVANGELISTA: Sunscreen. I developed melasma [patches of discoloration on the face] when I was about 33, so that was my wake-up call to start wearing SPF daily. Before that, my beauty tip was to find a good place in the sun, apply baby oil, and sit there with an aluminum foil reflector.
RB: You’ve worked with some legendary beauty pros. What’s the best advice you’ve picked up?
LE: Do your makeup by a window. On shoots, makeup artists always put you in front of natural light because you can see if you’re blending well and where your foundation starts and ends—you’re less likely to make mistakes.
