Hair grows only 15 cm per year. However, how fast it grows also depends on factors such as age, health, genetics and diet. Amongst these, the only factor that we have control over is our diet. Diet plays an essential part in the growth or loss of hair. As per hair experts, eating the right foods increases hair growth while a diet deficient in nutrients induces hair loss.
FOODS THAT HELP PROMOTE HAIR HEALTH
EGGS
Eggs are a great source of not only protein but also biotin; so here are two great sources which may promote hair growth. Since protein is the building block of hair, consuming eggs is the easiest and most natural way to consume these building blocks. Eggs are also a great source of zinc, selenium and other healthy hair nutrients, thus making them a great food to consume for hair growth.
LEAFY VEGETABLES
Spinach and other dark leafy vegetables are great sources of iron, folate and vitamins A and C, all which are a boost to hair growth. Iron helps the red blood corpsules carry oxygen throughout the body which in turn aids growth and repair. A deficiency in leafy vegetables could lead to hair loss.
