EXERCISING is one way to lead a healthy lifestyle, but that alone is not enough. Food is the most important element to your diet and living a healthy lifestyle. But you are most likely killing yourself with what you are eating and need to monitor your food.

EATING CORRECTLY

Jacinta Ndubane, a dietitian based in Midrand, says healthy foods such as fresh fruit and vegetables should be part of your daily diet as they are high in vitamins and minerals.

She says the correct serving of fruit and vegetables is five per day along with drinking two litres of water.

“Try to consume food that is high in fibre and whole grains such as brown rice and pasta. Cut down your intake of white bread, rice and sugar.”
