RAVAGED by breathing problems and too weak to walk, former Starsky & Hutch heartthrob David Soul is in a life-and death battle.

Now living in England, the 73-year-old actor, who played undercover cop Hutch on the 1970s series, is crushing the scales at an unhealthy 262 pounds and was too weak to jet to the U.S. for a reunion with his series co-stars.

“Due to my medical condition, I have been advised by my lung specialist that I shouldn’t risk the 11-hour plus flight to Hollywood from London,” he says. “I’m truly sorry.”
