As the bells ring in a New Year, Margot looks back fondly over 2017 as being her best in the country yet
IN a swathe of tinsel, carols, plenty of feasting and a few glasses of festive cheer, no sooner was December here, than it was gone. The entirety of the year vanished in a blur. Honestly, dear Reader, time seems to be racing on without so much as a ‘by your leave’. I blinked and next thing I knew, it was January. How on earth has that happened? I can’t even blame it all on an overindulgence of gin.
There’s nothing like the New Year ringing in to make you stop and think about what a year it has been. I don’t know about you, dear Reader but this has been such a momentous one for us. We said goodbye to that dear old cottage which saw us through our first foray into country living and took up our biggest challenge yet, a derelict farmhouse of dreams.
