GW is back to championing young talent, and this month we meet 17-year-old Matt Underwood – a young turner with bags of enthusiasm with a very bright future ahead of him. Matt is our cover star this month and it’s a pleasure to feature him.

Welcome to GW312 – our Router Special.
In techniques, we have a brand-new series from Peter Sefton, which sees his Long Course students embarking on a 35-week woodworking journey - and what better way to start out than by learning the basics. Peter Bishop is also back with the next in his beginners’ guide to power tools series, where he discusses the various different choices of router available on the market. If you have any questions about what router you should choose and why, then look no further than this comprehensive guide. John Bullar also returns with the next in his beginners’ series, which this month looks at the different types of woodworking adhesives available to the furniture maker and how their uses differ.

After much anticipation, we finally reveal the seven category winners followed by the overall winner of Shed of the Year 2016.
