In dieser Angelegenheit

A dear friend of mine once shared a short excerpt of a poem by Henry Van Dyke that reads, “Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear … but for those who love, time is eternity.” I was struck by the very first sentence that I began to trace myself as what time was for me in that instance. Every now and then, I check myself as what time is for me, and I become acutely aware of how time elusively changes in various settings—especially during holidays! On a different note, I must also confess of how painfully easy for one to gripe about the shortness of a day or, more often, how quick great moments fly by. Perhaps, there is some sort of learning to it that only the wiser would’ve figured out.
