The global wave of sympathy that followed the publication of the picture of three-year-old Alan Kurdi, was soon replaced by paranoia and demonization, especially following the Paris attacks: innocent people escaping death and destruction, surviving dangerous journeys to uncertain futures, only to be compared to rats and bracketed with the very murderers they are fleeing. Kindle Magazine dedicates its January issue to questions of migration around the world, to exploring the causes that force them to leave their homes and the many difficulties they face, to asserting the humanity of these desperate souls.

Kindle is a national monthly based out of Kolkata. We are a youth-targeted magazine and have been in publication since 2008. Largely, a socio-political magazine, we give equal importance to culture, sports, music, art, culture, literature, technology and other walks of life. So far, we have had cover stories on issues like Wikileaks, Sedition in India, Icons against the state, the State of the Left and much more. .
