《典藏》以雜誌出版起家，創立的目的在希望將藝術人文內涵及素養藉由圖書出版引入大眾生活中。1992年成立以來，對藝術理念的推廣不遺餘力。2000年為因應多元社會的快速轉型，遂投入多角化經營，總共發展出媒體出版、資訊服務與餐飲等三大區塊。
