In this fabulous BIG B&W Issue 2022, we had the pleasure of featuring some of the world's most influential photographers from around the globe. This issue is dedicated to the memory of a legendary, remarkable photojournalist, Steve Schapiro, who captured some of the most important historical events of the '60s and '70s. He contributed to the world with his high proficient skills and knowledge until the very last day of his life; Schapiro died peacefully on January 15.
Some of our favorite articles include the magnificent project "Portraits of Vietnam" by Mark Edward Harris; Lois Greenfield is 'Presenting The Impossible' in her fascinating project 'MOVING STILL.' Jose Jeuland is exhibiting his famous project from South Korea, Female divers in Jeju Island, and the award-winning international photographer Alex Sher is presenting 'The Power of Underwater Photography.'

Portraits of Vietnam
Thirty years ago in Vietnam, I began what would become my first photo essay, where I told a cohesive story through a series of images. Up until then, I had done stills on TV shows and movies and various editorial, advertising, and PR shoots.

Presenting The Impossible Moving Still
The ostensible subject of my photographs may be motion, but the subtext is time. A dancer's movements illustrate the passage of time, giving it substance, materiality, and space."

Female Divers in Jeju Island | South Korea
After donning her wet suit, flippers, and goggles, the female diver exits the boat and dives into the frigid waters offthe coast of Jeju Island in South Korea.

Gino Ricardo – Exploring Architectural Photography
Gino Ricardo is a motion designer and self-taught architecture and street photographer from the land of clogs, cheese, tulips, and windmills, also known as the Netherlands.

A Poetic Way to Deepen the Mystery
In a world where images have become a type of pollution, I am interested in creating a unique kind of reality removed from the social and political unrest that is currently defining our daily existence.

A Dancer Needs to Dance
"Years and years of training, rehearsing, and performing six days a week suddenly got replaced by nothing. Dancers were forced to train at home to keep in shape via online lessons. Living in a tiny apartment in Amsterdam, missing her boyfriend, and not being able to perform for a large audience. What does that do to your body and mind?"

A Sense of Place
"Like most photographers, I have always loved how monochrome can express mood, and I tend to render my images with deep shadows while attempting to find that one piece of contrast to offset the shadows. I prefer the smaller scenes, the intimate landscapes where what they lack in grandeur they make up for in detail and quiet contemplation. I see my images not begging for attention nor seeking ovations, as those who can appreciate them will eventually find them."

ERIC DAVIDOVE IN SEARCH OF EXCITEMENT
I am triggered by lighting conditions, the presence of intriguing shapes and forms, vibrant colors, and interesting-looking people.
