Cooking with love
It was my father's birthday recently and, for whatever reason, it hit me harder than usual this year. As you may know from previous columns, my father died more than 25 years ago. And still the grief process continues. I can't clearly identify why some birthdays, holidays, anniversaries or whatnot pass with no emotional fallout, while on others I feel the loss as acutely as if it happened just days, and not decades, earlier. Maybe that resonates with you-the wily nature of that beast we call grief.
