THE upstanding Welsh section D Llanarth Red Bull (Rebel) and Lois Hunt were crowned 2019 SEIB Search For A Star (SFAS) mountain and moorland (M&M) champions, despite being called out as second in the large breeds class.
Judges Sandy Wooderson (conformation) and Matthew Lawrence (ride) concluded that the 12-year-old gelding “came alive” in the championship, enabling him to pip large breeds victors Highland pony Memphis Of Millfield and Claire Kinsley to the top.
The win has come after a difficult few months for Lois, who used to work for Thomas Cook before the travel company collapsed over the summer.
