Two horses rack up their fourth wins at the course, while clever horse management pays off
THE TALKING HORSE added a fourth Garthorpe victory to his collection with a win in the men’s open under Tom McClorey.
The 10-year-old gelding, by Presenting, held off pressure from runner-up Sam Waley-Cohen on Facile Bien to take a three-length victory in a nail-biting finish.
“He raced quite lazily early on, but that’s kind of his temperament,” said Tom.“He’s the kind of horse that when you go for it he gives you everything; he is incredibly genuine.
“He is the star of the yard and everyone loves him because he is just a normal, lovely horse at home and causes no trouble, then he comes out on days like today and does the business.”
Mr Madeit was another to continue his success at this track in the nine-year-olds and over conditions race, also taking his fourth Garthorpe win.
