Abdullah Al Atrash
If anyone can claim to have brought colour and texture to Dubai, it is the Al Atrash family, whose vision was to make MAS Paint Group the benchmark in paint by maintaining quality and constant innovation in its products. Twenty-five years ago it was the attraction of the strategic location of the UAE and its business-friendly laws that brought the Al Atrash family to Dubai. They had founded their company in Saudi Arabia in 1990, initially to manufacture wood paints and finishes which were manufactured in Italy. When they opened an office in Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai, in 1994, they comprised a staff of three; now they have over 200 employees.
At the helm of the company is Managing Director Abdullah Al Atrash, who is respectful of his father’s pioneering vision; “My father is an entrepreneur. He identified the need in the market and started a business to fill that void.” The aim was to bring the best of Italian quality and know-how in the production of paints and varnishes to the professional building industry.
There have been many VIP private projects for royal families, while two of the most iconic public projects have included The Abu Dhabi Conference Palace and the Astana Ballet Theatre in Kazakhstan.
