Spaces That Connect

The 2019 identity Design Awards are excited to welcome Shawn Sullivan to this year’s selection jury. A world-renowned leader in designing for the hospitality industry, Sullivan brings with him a wealth of experience gained while working for celebrated global brands. Over the course of two decades he has created and transformed hotels, nightclubs, restaurants and residences.

Sullivan graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture before joining the award-winning Rockwell Group in 1997. In 2013 he was appointed as the interdisciplinary architecture and design firm’s first ever Partner. As Partner and Studio Leader, Sullivan has been central to many of the company’s key high-profile projects. Notably, he has been integral to the development of the Nobu restaurant brand internationally, designing the flagship Nobu Fifty Seven as well as Nobu Hotels in Las Vegas, Manila and Miami. Other celebrated developments include: the world’s first Andaz resort in Maui; Mexico’s Vidanta Los Cabos; The New York EDITION hotel; the Dream Hollywood hotel; and Marquee Nightclub at The Cosmopolitan hotel of Las Vegas.
