Last year, for the first time ever, the coveted Pritzker Prize was awarded to three individuals of a firm, instead of its more traditional, ‘single laureate’ format since the inception of the Prize. What exactly is it that led to the Pritzker program to change its longstanding tradition? The Jury attributes it to the firm’s continued endeavor to poetically fulfill architectural requirements, blending physical and spatial aesthetics with functionality and craftsmanship.
