Stitching Where The Poppies Blow

Francophile Jean wowed friends and fellow volunteers with her impressive stitched masterpiece.

We all love the sense of achievement that comes with completing a big project, but for stitcher Jean Cosgrove it felt extra-special as she finished the final stitch on her five-year WIP (Work-In- Progress), 'In Flanders Field'.

“This pattern was designed and sold exclusively in aid of The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal – and when I saw it I knew I just had to do it,” says Jean. “My maternal grandfather survived both the Boer War and World War I, and my father was in the RAF at the start of World War II and lost a leg in France.”
