If sooner or later we are going to do it…
Atharva was not at all happy. It was the last day of standard-4 and after a summer break he would need to go to standard-5. Atharva hated change. He liked to keep things as they were. He liked to be as he always was. He was just not happy of moving to another class. The entire summer he worried. The entire summer he fretted. The entire summer he complained, “No, no, I don't want to…” The entire summer went by in troubled thoughts. And finally, it happened. The day came. Atharva had to go and attend the first day of standard-5.
Knowingly, unknowingly, all of us are like Atharva in some aspect of our lives. The first step towards evolution is awareness. We start realizing, there is a better way. There is, metaphorically, a higher standard to go to. But somehow, we are so comfortable, so cocooned, where we are that we are not quite ready to explore the next step. Like Atharva we cry, we crib, we create nonexistent issues – and yet, at the end of all the emotional drama, what happens? We have to do what we have to do. And we go attend the first day of standard-5.
