This October has been a busy time, attending three shows in succession starting with the Copdock Motorcycle Show in Ipswich, where I took three of my bikes to start-up and demonstrate. I was also Guest of Honour, which involved interviews and presenting the awards to winners of the best bikes in show.
This was followed by the CMM/Carole Nash show at Stafford.I was taking seven bikes, so the week before I needed to ride each bike to make sure they all ran perfectly for the live starts. I like to do a 10-mile loop to clear the exhausts on the two-strokes and warm the oil on the four-strokes, with the exception of the 5.0L Flying Millyard, which takes a bit more riding to fully warm the six litres of oil in its remote oil tank. Honour at Stafford, which was a eat privilege, and being interviewed several times on stage with Steve later and John McCrink was great fun. he last event was the National Motorcycle Museum live day. I took three bikes to display in the conference room with the RC374 on stage. The day was fast-moving with two presentations on stage with Henry Cole, Sam Lovegrove and John McGuinness, compèred by Steve Plater. For me, starting my RC374 in front of around 1200 people was an amazing experience; I think even hose standing right at the back could hear it quite clearly. I really enjoyed meeting and talking to so many show visitors, putting faces to social media friends and followers, catching up with friends and making new acquaintances.
