A tactfully resto-modded MGA Coupé makes references to a serious rallying history.
Peter Tilbury, Anne Tilbury and their MGAs are much travelled in exotic locations, some of it flat out through African or Greek dust on the East African Safari and Acropolis rallies of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, as well as the muddier Lombard RAC rally in the UK. Peter co-drove with both private entrants and Works drivers on these events in Nissans, Toyotas, Subarus, Citroëns and Lancias.
Make no mistake, this is proper full on world-class rallying we’re talking about, not local TSD events. Peter may have been navigating as an amateur and so not exactly nudging Paddy Hopkirk’s rear bumper, but he was still on the competitor list in the same rallies as the top pros.
