Industrial details by Goodwood Scenics
Rail Express|August 2020
SOLD under its ‘Bulkscene’ label, Goodwood Scenics continues to develop a hitherto untapped area of scenic modelling and a gritty side of the D&E scene: industrial scenic details.
Industrial details by Goodwood Scenics

Industrial materials have been hard to find over the years unless it is a skip model or the odd crane detail. Modelling urban and industrial land found alongside railway lines and in former goods yards, can now be done with ease. From scrap metal, domestic appliance recycling and industrial estate scenes, there is something in the Goodwood Scenics range to create anything from small cameos to full size industrial scenes, even if it just occupies a strip at the back of the layout. A pile of rusty pipes, girders or abandoned tyres will suggest an industrial and urban setting and may provide useful wagon loads too.

Sadly, another side to urban railways in the D&E era is the likelihood of dumped and abandoned items such as refrigerators and tyres. If such realism appeals to you, the Goodwood Scenics range can furnish a layout with details to create illegal tipping with items regularly found on railway embankments, in the undergrowth and on adjacent land, particularly along little-used freight lines and abandoned industrial sites in built-up areas.
