Wondering what to get the driver in your life for Christmas? Or looking for some ideas that you’d like to give to others – or yourself? Wonder no more…
It’s that time of year again, when we all cross our fingers and pray the other half has come up with something slightly more exciting than yet another pair of socks to wrap and stick under the tree.
We’re always thinking of our readers’ best interests here at T&D, so here are this year’s 10 suggestions for you to pointedly leave open on the kitchen table before heading out to work at sparrow’s fart…
1 Good intentions
Getting fit and active is all the rage now, and even the truck manufacturers are getting in on the game. Most of them are offering footballs as part of their merchandise ranges this year, but we think Renault has the best deal, supplying five in one go for €76. So, even by the time the kids and dog have lost two footballs each, you'll still have one left for yourself once the holidays are over.
MAN, however, has gone one step further, offering actual, honest-to-god pushbikes, just perfect for strapping to the back of your cab so you can take to two wheels during those long RDC tips. They aren’t cheap – you’re looking at €899-€999, depending on whether you choose the mountain or racer option – but they are top of the range, so well worth the money.
Obviously, then you’ll need the proper clobber – so why not head over to Scania for a full range of cycling clothing? It’s all priced around the £30-£70 mark and was last seen modelled by Will Shiers, the editor of our sister magazine Commercial Motor, on his epic sponsored ride in South Africa for charity Transaid earlier this year – he assures us it kept chafing to a comfortable minimum, despite the heat!
