Im an international truck driver who lives in the Netherlands. I own a Volvo F7 which I use for shows and round trips with friends. Mike and Tilman live in Germany and we have already made several trips together. Some of you might have seen our trucks at the Retro Truck Show in Gaydon in 2019, they featured in the video T&D did of the event.
The 2020 show season was unfortunately almost completely cancelled due to coronavirus, so we thought we had to come up with something to do ourselves. In May we already made a nice tour through the Netherlands and the plan was to drive to Greece in the late summer, travelling through eastern Europe. Unfortunately there were too many restrictions for that to be possible. Soon, an alternative plan arose to drive through France and if we were in the south we could then also visit Andorra and cross the Spanish border to drive through the Pyrenees to Figueres. So we did!
From Figueres we went to La Junquera to leave Spain. To save tolls and to see more of the scenery, we decided to avoid the motorways as much as possible. Tilman, the owner of the red F12, left home four days earlier to visit Normandy and the Loire region. Mike and I met him on a Friday evening in central France after a long day’s driving. On Saturday we went further south together and in the evening we found a place to spend the Sunday in the picturesque city of Maurs.
