Take one haunted castle and it fill it with VWs = Dubs At The Castle
Simon Cooke
Kings Of The Castle

I ’ve said it before and no doubt I’ll say it again next year - but you’d have to go some to beat Dubs At The Castle as a location for a VW show - especially when it comes to taking photos - it’s just so spectacular - even if you are no longer allowed to climb all the stairs right to the top of the turrets to get an overhead shot.

This year the event took place over the long weekend of July 19/20/21 although a select few were allowed to camp from Thursday night. By arriving earlier they managed to dodge the rubbish weather on Friday - one of those lovely end of the world summer storms things which hit most of the UK on that Friday meaning getting into the location and setting up was a nightmare for some. However, the skies cleared and Saturday and Sunday were much better; luckily no repeat of the Bristol Mudfest adventures from earlier in the year.

Support for the show came from The Old Dub Shop, Uber Moose, Hayburner, Dubber’s Delight, V-Dub Factory, AR Drainage, Autocamp, Classic Carpentry & Joinery and Simple Print Solutions.

Lance & Lisa Beaver tell the story of their...‘Old School' Westfalia Bay

The history of our bus is varied. I heard that it used to belong to a soccer player who lived in it for a while, and a tale of a cross country trip that was taken in it. Since we’ve owned it, we have been to numerous car shows with our car club Kahiko Kula and enjoy that immensely, but taking it camping is our joy.
