West Rules Chennai

TO LAP THE 3.74KM MMRT circuit in 1 minute 40.585 seconds is no mean feat. A freakishly fast lap time that will require some serious brain, brawn and balls to beat. Anthony West simply ruled the roost at the third round of the 2018 Asia Road Racing Championship held at the MMRT, Chennai. The Yamaha rider was leagues ahead of the competition in India as he won both races and set the lap record. Here’s what happened over the weekend in his Super Sport 600 (SS600) class as well as the Asia Production 250 (AP 250) and the Under Bone 150 (UB150).

SS600

West showed such supremacy to put his Yamaha R6 on pole, ahead of the Honda CBR600RRs of Tomoyoshi Koyama and Md Zaqhwan Zaidi by three-tenths of a second. Idemitsu Honda Racing India by T Pro Ten10 Racing rider Taiga Hada could only manage a sixth fastest time on his Ceeber.
