Peek Into The Office Of The Morrow

A DINNER CONVERSATION with friends recently took an interesting turn when one said that she takes a day off from the office every week to work from the park in her neighborhood. Another said he takes the lunch hour to hit the gym in his office, which recharges him. One friend educated us on the benefits of art therapy in the corporate set-up. Apparently her office at a leading multinational organizes art sessions with wine and cheese every Friday to enhance wellness among employees. Employees are encouraged to work on a particular piece of art and appreciate one another’s efforts.

These sessions are a big hit at her workplace and are eagerly awaited. Incidentally, artwork is a known tool for enhancing well-being at the workplace and reduces work stress. Evidently, traditional workdays are being restructured to fit in with the needs of the workforce. Employers are open to flexibility and happy to provide amenities at the office that enhance the productivity of employees.

Technology @ Workspace

Modern workplace designs are driven by technology, which is likely to be a key factor in designing office environments of the future too. Rapid technological advancements have transformed the way we work. Today we work across time zones with ease. At the Workplace Trends Conclave in the capital, Union Minister for Communications, Electronics & Information Technology and Law & Justice, Ravi Shankar Prasad said technology had completely transformed the workplace. The theme of the Workspace Trends conference was ‘People, Place, and Performance powered by Technology’.
