Cranes are ubiquitous across the country today what with millions of crore of infrastructure projects in the pipeline
HIGH IN THE SKY
Infrastructure and industrial development have played a crucial role in the Indian economy over the past few years. The Indian government is expected to increase its spending on public infrastructure to meet its ambitious development plans. Furthermore, the government’s plans, such as 100 smart cities, are expected to boost construction activity and increase demand for construction equipment. These increased investments and the growing construction sector are expected to drive the Indian crane market further in the future.

INFRA SAVES THE DAY

Any industrial or Infrastructure activity will drive demand for cranes as all the material handling activities are primarily done by them. Manish Mathur, CEO, crans, ACE, says, “Despite a devastating second wave we expect the market to grow by at least 25% in FY2122. Our Pick-n-Carry cranes are the first equipment to move into an infra site and the last to move out. With the government determined to initiate infra activity worth Rs 5.5 lakh crore in this fiscal, not only cranes, but the entire construction equipment industry will see a boom.”

The National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP) is the key demand driver for the CE industry. Road transport, railways, irrigation, water resources, airports are the key projects covered under the NIP program. It is expected that infrastructure spending by the government will continue to remain robust in the coming years, adds Mathur.
