This strategic shift is feeding a boom in spending on IT products and services, with spending in India on cloud technologies alone set to cross $10 bn by 2020 (Source: Zinnov).
Though many technology drivers for digital transformation exist—cloud, mobile, analytics, and social—the cloud stands out. India’s own transformation to become a digital nation and the government’s Digital India initiative are driving exponential growth in cloud, fueled by an expected 3X increase in internet penetration, increased access to enabling infrastructure such as smartphones, easier access to the internet, and a 3X growth in the total number of technology start-ups in India offering affordable, vertical specific innovative cloud solutions.
