Zorawar Kalra, Founder & MD, Massive Restaurants, who began his entrepreneurial journey on a mission mode, has gained a massive momentum with over nine brands spread across six countries including UK, UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The company plans to enter Bahrain, Peurto Rico and Istanbul by 2019-end.
Food was always at the center of family life while Zorawar Kalra was growing up in New Delhi. An MBA from Boston’s Bentley Business University, with an entrepreneurial bent of mind and a genetic love for food, Zorawar’s first venture was Punjab Grill under Wrapster Food in 2007. He sold the business to Lite Bite Foods in 2012. Son of renowned food columnist, author, gastronome, and food consultant, Jiggs Kalra, Zorawar founded Massive Restaurants in 2013 to put Indian cuisine on the global map. Massive Restaurants started with the first outlet of Masala Library in Mumbai to offer modern ambiance coupled with age-old recipes. While continuing the age-old legacy of recipes, Zorawar has built a portfolio of nine critically acclaimed, multi-award-winning and iconic brands, including Farzi Café, Made in Punjab, Pa Pa Ya, Masala Bar, KODE, BBQD, TYGR, and the most recent YOUnion.
