JUST days after reuniting with estranged dad Ryan O’Neal and ending a 17-year feud, troubled Tatum O’Neal was locked up in a psycho ward for threatening to jump off the balcony of a building, insiders say!

Now friends fear reconnecting with Ryan, 79, drove the 56-year-old Bad News Bears actress to threaten to kill herself, which resulted in police whisking Tatum to an L.A. loony bin for observation.

“Meeting with her dad was both a blessing and a curse,” says a source close to the family.

“It reminded Tatum of all the good times — and the bad times, as well.”
