Ever since Olivia Bowen – formerly Buckland – hit our TV screens on Love Island back in 2016, we’ve had a soft spot for the bubbly Essex beauty. During series two of the show she met and fell in love with her now-husband Alex Bowen. And it’s clear that, three years after tying the knot, she’s more smitten than ever.
“He is such a sweetheart,” Olivia giggles as we catch up via Zoom. She also reveals that, despite relocating their love story from Majorca to the Essex countryside, they have no regrets. “We’re very cosy little country bumpkins now,” she says.
Olivia – who is working with Action For Children’s Secret Santa campaign – recently revealed that children are on the cards for herself and Alex. But until they come along, their two adorable French Bulldogs Winnie and Reggie are keeping them busy, along with their passion for property renovation. As well as a top-to-toe transformation of their own Essex mansion, the couple recently did up Alex’s childhood home for his nan and grandad. And Olivia tells us they’re already on the lookout for their next DIY project.
Here, Olivia, 27, opens up about protecting herself on social media and catching up with her Love Island besties…
Hi Olivia! How has 2021 been for you so far?
I’ve had a really positive year. I always bang on about it, but I started horse-riding again last year. It’s been such a nice escape for me because I don’t really like fitness in other avenues. I started to run but I fell out of love with it and horse riding has always been my thing. It’s a release.
What’s your relationship like with social media?
