Her Career’s Already Spanned Almost 40 Years, but This a-lister Is Busier Than Ever

Drew Barrymore’s excited about her latest return to our screens as Hollywood’s most glamorous zombie.The superstar actress, producer and single parent may not have time for love right now, but she’s found a gap in her hectic schedule for another serving of Netflix’s Santa Clarita Diet.

The series has just returned for its third season and sees Drew playing wife and real estate agent Sheila Hammond who, after her untimely death, carries on with family life as a flesh-eating zombie!

Drew believes the comedy is the perfect antidote to all the real world darkness around right now. ‘It’s a show that’s almost trying to make you laugh about how crazy life is,’ says the 44-year-old. ‘It’s also a show about a family who fights to stay together and make it work. I think that’s relatable to any couple on the planet, whatever their circumstances are. It’s an optimistic, funny, happy show about people who are just trying to live their normal daily life.’

While Drew’s personal life has endured some upheaval in recent years – she divorced her third husband Will Kopelman in August 2016 – she says she’s in a good place right now, thanks to her flourishing career and being a mum to daughters Olive, six, and Frankie, four.

MAKING IT WORK AS A MUM

‘My favourite thing about being a mum is just what a better person it makes you on a daily basis,’ Drew divulges. ‘Every morning when I wake up, the endgame is, “Can I get [them] to smile?” And that puts me in a good mood!’
