The past year has given everyone the opportunity to slow down, but for singer Jay Aston the coronavirus pandemic has also allowed her to reflect on a tough time in her life.
Back in June 2018, the former Bucks Fizz star, who still performs with Cheryl Baker and Mike Nolan as The Fizz, was diagnosed with oral cancer and had to undergo a seven-hour operation to have part of her tongue removed.
But with a forced break in her performance schedule, the 59-year-old says she’s been provided with a muchneeded rest which in turn has helped her surgery scars to heal. And as well as a deserved break, Jay, who is mum to daughter Josie, 17, with her husband Dave Colquhoun, has also been performing online gigs with The Fizz, renovating her home and supporting good causes.
