PRINCE CHARLES VISITS JAPAN
Royal Britain Presents Royal Life|Issue 46
Prince Charles was in Japan on Oct. 22 and 23 of 2019 to attend Emperor Naruhito’s enthronement ceremony in Tokyo, which took place the first day the Prince of Wales was there.
PRINCE CHARLES VISITS JAPAN

Prince Charles was one of 200 guests at the ceremony, which is based on ancient rites handed down through Japan’s royal family for hundreds of years. He was joined by other royals such as King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, and King Carl XVI Gustaf and Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden.

But whilst he was in Japan, Prince Charles did more than just attend the ceremony. On Oct. 22, he stepped out to the Nezu Museum, an art museum in Tokyo that contains pre-modern Japanese and east Asian art. He was given a tour of the museum by its director, Koichi Nezu, and his wife.

Prince Charles, who is passionate about the great outdoors, also got a good look at the garden’s spectacular pond.

Later the same day the Royal visitor looked dapper as he stepped out to Naruhito’s enthronement, wearing all of his military medals and a stylish suit. He was joined by British Ambassador Paul Madden for the historic occasion.

Once inside the Imperial Palace, Prince Charles took his seat next to Crown Princess Mary, and the two old friends chatted in an animated fashion.
