Ada Nicodemou - I NEVER DEPRIVE MYSELF
If you’re one of the few people who’ve only seen snippets of Australian TV drama Home and Away since it’s been on air, we’ll bet you still know who Ada Nicodemou is. At 44, Nicodemou is an icon of Aussie TV. After getting her start as teen dancer Katerina Ioannou on Heartbreak High in 1994, by 2000, she’d found her forever role as Leah Patterson (right) on the universally loved soap. “I can’t believe Leah’s been part of my life for nearly 22 years,” she says.

In addition to her busy work life, Nicodemou is mum to her son Johnas, 9, who she says, couldn’t care less about his mother’s celebrity! Here, she expands on her family life and fame, plus how she continues to look so damn incredible! Her top tip? “I exercise early in the day,” she tells WHO. “It just sets me up so well and makes me feel better.”

NO DIETS

Nicodemou says she roughly follows an 80/20 eating plan. “I love fish, chicken and vegetables,” she says. “I have eggs for breakfast, sushi or a poke bowl for lunch and protein and veg for dinner – plus a glass of red some nights!”

With the exception of lockdown, 2021 was a huge year for you. What do you want from the year ahead?

Hopefully a lot of fun, laughter, eating out at restaurants. A bit of overseas travel would be nice! I’ve always had a holiday booked each year and for the past two years, I haven’t. I didn’t think I missed it, but I’m ready now.
