Angelina & Brad Is The War Really Over?

After four years and eight long months of legal wrangling between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt over the custody of their children, a judge has finally come to a decision. On May 13, Judge John Ouderkirk granted Pitt, 57, joint custody of kids Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 15, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 12 – son Maddox, 19, is legally an adult, so he’s been exempt from the proceedings.

“Brad is thrilled with the decision after all of this acrimony,” an insider shared. “All he has ever wanted was equal access to the children, who he loves very much. Finally, he is able to look ahead to having more time with them and he’s grateful to the judge for taking into account the huge amount of testimony which supported his claim.”

Although the custody battle appears to be over, the war between the exes continues to rage on. Jolie, 45, is appealing against the latest ruling, with her legal team filing documents to California’s Second District Court of Appeal on May 24 to have the judge dismissed – rendering his judgement invalid. The star’s lawyers argued that Ouderkirk had “failed to adequately consider ... input as to [the children’s] experiences, needs, or wishes” after not allowing them to testify in court at Jolie’s request back in March.

“She says that the kids didn’t speak in court,” an insider close to the situation has revealed. “The point is that the kids spoke to their therapists in proper situations and settings about things. They were evaluated and this was then reported into the court.
