Where in Charlotte do you live?
We live in Myers Park. We moved to Charlotte from San Diego 13 years ago. I grew up in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Northern California and consider myself very lucky to have lived in beautiful areas all my life.
Tell us about your job. What do you like and what are the challenges?
I have the wonderful responsibility of overseeing a group of very talented people. I like just about everything about my job, but like with any job, there are parts that are hard. I have been lucky to do something I love for my entire career, so there isn’t any room to complain. We do a lot of work in the Charlotte community, which is also incredibly rewarding.

A Cool Girl's Bedroom
WHEN DESIGNER JACY PAINTER KELLY, owner of Jacy Painter Kelly Interiors, took her family to New York City last summer, her 10-year-old daughter Lucy went crazy for the cool urban vibe of their downtown hotel room. It gave Lucy the itch to makeover her own bedroom in their Fort Mill home. She wanted more mature accents like silver wall sconces and velvet pillows, paired with punk rock elements like a graffiti-inspired bed frame and pink neon sign. Luckily her designer mom knew exactly how to tie it all together.
