Dadra and Nagar Haveli is a Union Territory in Western India. Dadra is surrounded by Gujarat, while Nagar Haveli lies between Gujarat and Maharashtra.
The capital of Dadra and Nagar Haveli is Silvassa. The UT (Union Territory) makes up two different geographical units. Nagar Haveli is a larger C-shaped area, while the smaller Dadra lies to the northwest.
Spread over 491 square km, the UT ranks 4th among the Union Territories of India.
Dadra and Nagar Haveli lies in the moist deciduous forest of the Western Ghats. It is rich in flora and fauna, as 43% of the land is forested. Animals and birds native to Dadra and Nagar Haveli are leopards, Golden Deer, Four horned Antelope, Striped Hyena, Black Drongo, Bulbul and Heron.
