The same report says that “It’s good news for the PC market generally; in 2015, it made its steepest drop in history, falling 10.6% in the fourth quarter of 2015 and 8.3% overall. It looks like the market is finally evening out.”

True, Apple’s own figures have also grown, most recently by 3% in the second quarter of 2018 compared to 2017 and have also increased market share from 7% to 7.1% in the previous 12 months. Apple’s Mac Shipments Increase in Q2 2018.
Apple is also now the fourth biggest global laptop supplier, Apple moves from No.5 to No.4 in global laptop shipments, on track for double-digit share leapfrogging ASUS but behind HP, Lenovo and Dell.
