Les Pounder hasn’t seen the latest Toy Story 4 movie as yet, but nevertheless he’s already met Buster…
With the release of a new Raspberry Pi there is always an update of Raspbian, and this time there is one big change. Released on 24 June, Raspbian Buster marks the start of new Raspbian images based on the latest Debian Buster image. In fact Raspbian Buster was released before the official Debian release.
Running Linux Kernel 4.19.50 created on 20 June 2019, Raspbian Buster is not much different to the last release of Raspbian Stretch. Most of the changes are to security and the backend. But Simon Long was keen to refresh Raspbian’s interface and so it features a more refined desktop that feels even more like a ‘desktop replacement’ than before. If you’re familiar with previous Raspbian releases then the basics are the same, but it just looks a little nicer.
