I’VE always suffered from allergies – stupid silly ones that, whilst they seem trivial, can be really restrictive and occasionally frightening. Like the time I was a young TV reporter at the Horse Of The Year Show at the NEC in Birmingham – and found that (even though I had ridden horses as a child) I was now in my twenties and totally allergic to horses (and have been ever since). I spent most of the evening in the St John’s Ambulance tent sucking in oxygen whilst my film crew had to do the report without me.
